Model of 1917 Enfield bayonet and with the Type 1 scabbard

    Hello,
I would like some advice on the value of a very nice Model of 1917 U.S. Enfield bayonet and Type 1 scabbard.

The bayonet is marked with the Remington circle and 1917 on one side, and the other side is marked U.S. with the ordnance bomb and three other smaller marks. The blade does not show signs of having been sharpened.

The scabbard has four markings. The metal tip is marked MS. The body is marked ERD on the reverse and an elongated diamond. The Leather hanger attachment is marked JEWELL over 1917.

    Thank you in advance. --RobertIMG_8231.JPGIMG_8232s.JPGIMG_8233.JPGIMG_8235.JPGIMG_8236.JPGIMG_8239s.JPG

You'll get all kinds of values depending on where the individual is, here in Canadaicon, that whole set could fetch $150 to $225 CDN...or at least would be priced so. It might be more to the point to study your own Gunbroker or Simson's or perhaps any of the other auction groups local to you to see what they actually sold for.
    Regards, Jim

Thanks, Jim. I looked at several auction sites. Prices for a correct set ranged from $200 US to over $500 US. However, none of them had a Type 1 scabbard which is rare, especially with the leather hanger intact.

This is about as close to a real market value as I think you'll get:
    U.S. WW1 Original M1917 Bayonet Winchester w/ Type I Scabbard EXCELLENT WW1 RARE | eBay

Sold on March 4th, 2018. 20 bids totaling $273.97 plus $13.15 shipping. After fees, that seller came away with something like $230.
