    I find it interesting that Gary Coopers favorite gun 12 gauge but is pictured holding what looks like a 1903 Springfield

    Yep, that's what it looks like. Maybe it was the only picture the author could find of him with a gun?

    I didn't know John Wayne liked the .300 Weatherby Mag. It was almost 20 years ahead of the .300 Win Mag. Yeah, it has good "Killing power". That's something you don't hear Hollywood actors say these days.
