Knowing the conversion was done in Belgiumicon by a private company I therefore don't think UKicon would pay for rifles they anyway sold get converted and then gift them to another country. They would rather give them the guns for free and maximum tell them where they can get them converted. The Turkishicon also converted guns themselves, therefore I believe if they were given P.14 and they wanted them to be 8x57 IS, they would rather convert themselves.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Turks sold their 7.9 weapons inventory years ago and would most certainly have disposed of a non standard like a P14. If they kept any 7.9 rifles it would be Mausers. They also disposed of their No4s.

Converting a .303 Brit chambered rifle to 8mm Mauser would not be cost effective. Rimmed case to rimless requires drastically altering the bolt face, mag follower and extractors etc. Certainly wouldn't have been paid for by either Turkeyicon or Britainicon. W.W. I literally bankrupted the Brits and Turkey has never had money.
