A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I would be interested in the overall length of those - unsnapped - and from end to end. They seem to vary by as much as 4-5 inches from what I've seen so far. Thanks! - Bob

    49 1/2" to 49 3/4" Naaah,

I wish the ones I have were that shorter length. The (2) C Tips in this picture measure 52" overall, but with the snap closed are about 49 inches. According to Riesch's book, that's still within specs. I'd rather have them look more like the D Tip at the top of the picture when "snugged up" on my Carbine. The D Tip measures about 49" OAL. Thanks for measuring them - at first I thought mine might be for a gun other than an M1icon Carbine. - Bob

Careful Charlie, Your buddy Bruce has been lurking here today. I could sick him on you! Actually, GI Bob can still see his belt buckle (at least when he looks in the mirror!). Plus, my ladders don't have paint dripped all over them! - Bob
