PLEASE HELP - VALUE ON K98 RIFLE

    Hello,
I have the opportunity to purchase a German WWII Vet bring back K98icon rifle from the Vet's son.
It is a late War model but includes sling, cleaning rod and site hood.
All metal is in good shape and the bore is clean.
It is an ALL matching numbers rifle.
The stock is in good condition.
Assume all that I am telling you is accurate.
What is a ball park value range for a rifle like this, matching numbered and in all around GOOD condition.
Also assume it is an average meaning not rare code rifle.
I am just looking for a ball park range as to what a rifle like this would go for.
I had one in the past but unfortunately sold it.
I am not up on recent values.
I had expected it would be in the $1500 range but I may be low since I havent looked at values in a few years.
    Please help with opinions.
Also I know late war rifles are worth less than early war rifles,
This is a true late war rifle with the squared off but plate.
    Thank you in advance.

Assumptions can't be made by descriptions. There are too many variables. We'd need images.

I might add that unless he has bringback papers, “buy the gun, not the story.”
Someone simply claiming it’s a WWII bringback is worth $0. Gotta be documented.

I get the fact that there are a lot of factors.
I am not looking for an exact figure.
Just a general ball park price range of what they go for.

Like for instance, I am more versed in M1icon Garands.
I can tell you a correct WWII Springfield Garand would go in the ball park of around $2000- $2500 range.

As far as it being a bring back, I know 100% for sure so I am not worried about that issue.

I think what they are saying is that K98icon's have too many variables to give a ball park on. Which manufacturer, what year, etc. A ballpark for a matching K98 could be $1000-$3000, too big to play in. And that's assuming it's not a rare one.

OK then what are the variables?
Meaning what am I looking for to determine value?

Photos of the receiver markings and the entire rifle from muzzle to butt plate would be a good start.
