I feel like I'm kinda reaching at what you are trying to explain but its just not 'Clicking' with me yet. I'll re-read this a few times in the coming days and take a closer look at the damage to see if I can wrap my head around what you are saying better. But thanks a bunch Doco I appreciate your patience in explaining it the second time and I wouldn't expect you to explain it a third time. I'll just take my time and try to figure it out myself. In the meantime I might try the fore-end since it seems a bit easier, and the more I think about it the more I think I would rather have a useable repaired stock than an unuseable one with the original furniture. Bit of a shame but oh well.
