I found the converse with my S&W 15/22. Mini Mag jammed every other round, whereas sub sonics, and standard ammo worked flawlessly. In fact CCI Blaser worked the best, and is all I will use now, and it's the cheapest

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Roy,
Probably the reason for why I started the thread. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for the failings of .22 in semi autos other than, seating/magazines/ejection of simply the round is either under powered to throw the working parst back or some other mystery.
A mystery never replicated when you watch a manufacturers film on the rifle, regardless of manufacturer. Wonder how many takes they had??

Exactly. First time I used the Smith, it cycled Mini Mag perfectly. I cleaned it, used it at the next steel challenge, (same type of comp) and it wouldn't shoot more than two rounds without jamming. Different batch of ammo, everything else the same. Quite bizarre and bloody infuriating

I remember Dan'l Boone as well as Paladin and Cheyenne Cody and even Sugarfoot I guess I'm old huh?
I have better luck with Federals in my 10/22 and my Walther P22 Winchesters seem to jam more often CCI not so much the worst I found was some Russianicon junk with an average of 8 misfires or jams in every 290 rounds

Oh and I just bought 2 bricks of the Federal in the 525 count for under 20 bucks a brick at Wally World the first time I've seen it under $20 a brick since that O person was in office.

Ironically, the Chiappa .22 has gone back again to the manufacturer in Italyicon as the rounds will just not line up and consequently miss feed nearly every round as they enter the barrel, worse since it came back this second time. I told them cure it, or give me another gun, and in the meantime did a variation hoping its either cured totally or they do just that grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I can safely say I have now tried every round possible still no success, so assuming the barrel is out of line somehow!!
