unfortunately this is the standard Version. The USMC style sight cover has bigger Diameter (app. 0,6").

gap is normal, I would be more worried if it had no gap.
also, looks like someone has put epoxy at the rear tang in the stock, it should have a gap, and be chamfered as well,
repro bayonet lug,.. not an issue unless you plan on using the bayonet
