Front sight clock very slightly off.

The front sight base on my 1903a3 is clocked ever so slightly to the right. I was wondering why I had to adjust the rear sight so far to the right. Could a gunsmith fix this by turning the barrel or will it need machining to fix. It shoots fine but now that I've noticed it it will bug me for ever.

Sounds like the barrel isn't quite tight enough, or if it won't move then a slight touch at the shoulder and it will index correctly. When people aren't correctly set up to barrel a rifle, this can happen. If you have the right wrench and barrel blocks and vise you can exert enough pressure to time the barrels TDC correctly usually...just a bit tighter...
