Since I test shot 12 different carbines , they all were not the same on what they liked , and as stated there are two different barrel types . I-4350 was the over all best in most , but I-3031 was a strong second . I never shot as good as 2 inches at 200 yards , that would be about 0.7 at 100 yards .

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I have found over the years that IMR 3031 is about the best powder to get close to powders used way back when the rounds were first loaded by their military. I have used it in 8x50 Lebel, the .303 Britishicon, 6.5 Carcano, 6.5x55 Swede and of course the 6.5 Japaneseicon to name a few. While not always the most accurate it does seem to deliver acceptable accuracy in these cartridges.
