This is "just" a scope, the reproduction mount itself doesn't have much of value. A bit ridiculous in my opinion, but someone (or two of them) seemed to have wanted it desperately.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Goodness me that is truly unbelieveable. I would never have believed in prices like that for a collectible scope back when I got my first old Enfield, and Cinders like you said, in Australiaicon they not cheap if you look online, but I must say through friends and people I know I have scored maybe %80 of my enfields, most needing cleaning and whatnot, but still complete. I suppose it was just meant to be.

H T prices are not over the top. By you making a replica you will have a cheap copy but the real H T price will be pushed even higher. I would like a set of Lattey sights as well but have missed out at auction so far but I will get a set. Copies are just that all right for display and little else.

A nice piece of Aldis history there especially if you found rifle 3616 to go with it, and looking at it, its in good condition as long as the turrets work as described.
