    Dan,
I stole it from another Forum, posted by another guy from Michigan.
This article was published in 1957 in a Michigan State Police monthly publication entitled, "POST-ER".

    Original Post:
Post war use for folding stock .30 carbine - M1 SERIES OF CARBINES [REF] - U.S. Militaria Forum

    My copy cat post:

When time allows I'll try to search the local area for any links to the publication.

Hmm, Should this be posted in the older thread?

Found another set of holes . Clearly something was half blind pinned in this stock at one point.
Shame as it is a high wood. There is another mark sanded off. Will have to play to see if I can get a pic.

Cute photo of the two with the M1A1icon...all sorts of possibilities for captions. I would think the solid butt would be better for those guys anyway, the pantograph stock would collapse when not pinned to the shoulder and it offers no one handed support for covering suspects...not great for LEO I'd think. Not my first choice. Very cool looking but...

    Regards, Jim
