He was Happy !
He sure did, I just wish I could remember what it was. Wonder if he'll give such nice feedback to the seller of this IP or will he even know he bought a faked up IP or care?

Sadly this is the sort of situation the hurts collecting in general, and some poor unexpecting carbine newbe down the road.

Marcus said it best... It's outright Fraud.
No different than RBA has gotten away with for years.
For the record sellers name is Ironmen Arms in Bloomsburg, PA 17815
They are currently offering this:
Walther Model 1 .22 LONG ONLY WW2 Nazi Era Rifle. Serial number 35619k.
Description states:
..... the stock is solid and crack free.
Pictures #28-31 will show otherwise:

Always ask for an inspection period. If the seller will not comply with that, I'd beware.

If you really watch some of this seller's auctions there is a mix of nice, average and over ambitiously described guns too, many of those with flaws. If the seller and buyer were both totally ignorant of this IP then who's to blame? Now if the seller cobbled this IP together then it's clear fraud on their part, but who really knows the background of this carbine? It's kind of like trying to prove authenticity of a bringback carbine, but on a much smaller scale.
The only thing you can say about the buyer is that he is really ignorant or in cahoots with the seller. I'll leave the more personal comments out of the those two possibilities, such as stupid, moronic or a ne'er-do-well.

The guy is a crook, I sent him an email about that pile of junk , no response. Seems to be the case with a lot of the " big" sellers on Gunbroker. I have seen several of them sell humped guns and people just keep on bidding. Just encourages the dishonesty along with ruining hobbies. The German Helmet hobby has been destroyed, the K98 hobby is heading that way and from what I see the M1 carbine hobby isn't far behind.

I see the day after I posted this the seller disclosed the stock did have a crack.
Maybe the seller follows this forum or maybe contacted by someone else.
At least the buyer was aware of it before auctions end.
I give the seller credit for this..

No idea how it works on GB, but on some auction sites, the description AND the pictures are considered to be the description. So, if the description doesn't say something but the pictures show it and you don't see it, sorry it's in the fine print. Ask questions, evaluate answers or lack thereof, ask for more pictures, review over and over and read the fine print.
Or better yet, take your time, learn everytihing you can, look at it in person. Rolling the dice over and over again may net results sometimes, but eventually the house wins.
