Any info on this Thomas J Conroy sight protector?

I found this in one of my parts boxes and can find no info on it. Can anyone help? Is it for a Mauser or? When were these made? Thanks

Since it was made in New York, and it appears to fit a muzzle mounted blade front sight, I'd guess it is for a Springfield M1903 or a Kragicon.
