A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. It would be nice to add it to an M1icon collection. Buy it for that as you will only get your money back out of it as silver.
Don't expect it to go up in value. Silver is under $15 an ounce as of today. I would think this will sell for a premium over that plus shipping. Like most commemorative coins or bars, they sell for spot as junk coins. (term used for pre 1964 90% silver coins).

    Not even that, Jim.
They're just quarters. No silver content.
On the bright side, it'll only cost you 25 cents to add to your collection

I saw that, but there are always some that are done with a mint grading and or in silver as collectibles.

The Mints website says that they will be producing 5 ounce 3 inch diameter .999 Silver versions of the quarters. That would be nice in an M1 display for sure.

    Silver Bullion Quarters
Investors now have another choice in beautiful silver!

The America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008 —Public Law 110-456— authorizes the production of five ounce, .999 fine silver bullion coins replicating each of the designs featured on the United Statesicon Mint America the Beautiful Quarters. The bullion coins are three inches in diameter and have a nominal face value of 25 cents. These are the first five ounce, three inch, .999 fine silver bullion coins ever produced by the United States Mint. The fineness and weight are edge-incused on the coins...

I'm surprised it took this long for somebody to call me on that one.
