    Optics

A while back I got a couple of interesting bits of gear, both of "soviet" design, but one of Chinese manufacture.

    1. A PSO-1 as used on the SVD and various other platforms. It is missing the front and rear rubber 'boots" / guards. Also missing are the illumination element from under the drums, the front "sunshade tube", the dinky rubber "boot' for the illumination switch and the cap from the battery compartment. Colour is a sort-of "Hammertone" metallic grey

    2. A Chinese-made clone of the Russianicon PGO-7 sight as used on the RPG-7. It appears to be complete and is in excellent external condition and complete with front and rear rubber boots.. The optics, including the rangefinder reticule, are crisp but have a peculiar pale yellow "tint" Colour is a basic satin-finish olive paint. Markings include:

    69-40
    HPJ
    197 inside a circle
    A 7-digit serial number

All of these markings on the RHS of the switch housing are machine engraved and neatly filled with white paint.

Main question: does anyone know of a source for "bits" for the PSO-1.

My "optical guy" is not exactly "local". but is pretty good with "weird" stuff.

    Cheers
