    New To Me, Ishapore 2A1

As promised here is a quick view of my gun show find Ishapore 2A1.
The rifle was purchased complete with all matching numbers. Even the magazine matches which I never seen before on all the ones I've looked at. I haven't shot it yet but hope to tomorrow.
One change I've made to it aside from removing about a pound of cosmolene is to add a peep sight. Those tiny little notch sights are cruelty to a guy my age. I couldn't even focus on it. But after all these were designed for young bucks not old farts like me. - Bill

Nice looking Ishapore. All the ones I've owned had very nice bores, but tended to look bad on the outside, because the paint on them tends to wear off in spots. I put a MOJO sight on the first one I had for the same reason you did. Very hard to use those original sights with my eyes. I just sold the last one I had, because my eyes are just getting too bad for iron sights.

Looks like you made a good find with that one.

Looks like the rear sight protector is reversed-the sloped side should be forward. Nice rifle.

    Ishapore 2A1 Range Report

So I finally got the Ishapore to the range and it did well when I did my part. Again old eyes, open sights and a 100 yard distance do not equal the most accurate shooting. Yes youngsters those are 6 inch dots, respect your elders!
The rifle definitely had a preference for ammo. I had 3 flavors of 7.62x51 ammo to feed it with, '05 white box Winchester,
'13 Lake City and this '94 silver bullet ammo which I think is Austrian or Germanicon. It didn't like the '94 ammo at all, it shot it all over the place. The white box Winchester did ok but it liked the Lake City the best.
Top target is a 5 shot group of the Winchester which went wide, the bottom is the Lake City which held windage fine, the hi and low was me! The marked shots all over the place are the silver bullets. I ran out of cover dots so went to the marker. Strangely enough it was dead on at 100 yards. I initially started with a 6 o'clock hold expecting it to shoot high but it shot low so I went to a center hold. - Bill
