Talking of that old wartime training film, the whole story of the making of it, the people involved and the need for it was written in the archive library at the Weapon Collection. Plus some photos taken during the time as I recall. The Officer running the sniper school was from the Devonshire Regt. Alas, it all seems to have gone during the change. Shame...

The clip this is taken from has been seen in a number of different documentaries, mostly concerning the Battle of the Bulge IIRC.
Our paratroops were trained to use their weapons and theirs were probably trained to use ours.
If you come across such a thing on the battlefield, why not use it? Hell of a lot better than a K98kicon unless it has a German glass on top.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.
