Don't spend big bucks on glasses for this, go to the drug store and try readers until you find the correct prescription that will work on shooting...I use different ones for reading and distance, fixed as suggested and big owl eyes for distance.
    Regards, Jim

I used an old pair of frames from my previous set of glasses and got plain lenses, no coatings or photochromatic changes for about $60. Front sight will be infocus. You can add a pinhole cover, even a piece of tape with a pinhole to increase depth of field. This will at least give you an inexpensive option to test the waters before you buy a more expensive rig.
That's the plan. I will get past this shoot and look further into getting this whole thing sorted out.

I use a cheap pair of glasses (1.25X) costing £1 and I black out the right lens with a strip of black tape with a pinhole in it. It works perfectly at all distances. The trick is to get the pinhole in line with your line of sight.
Up to trying that I couldn't focus on the backsight, front sight and target on any of my rifles with a barrel mounted sight.
