    Back safely

Just when you thought it was quiet here I am back from our long weekend bike run with Mrs CINDERS & friends we managed 900lkm in 2 days staying at 2 wheat belt pubs built in the early 1900"s.
Sadly these hotels which flourished in our out back during those times are disappearing along with the Aussie bushman of those generations frankly its just not the same anymore out there.

Took plenty of snaps along with some of a military museum we visited in Merriden (Merrid-en)
An army base was established there in WWII as they thought the japs were going to invade Western Australiaicon after Darwin & Broome were attacked by air.
Its well worth the visit as they have lots of items of which there were 2 x 20mm Hispano cannons from a spitfire recovered from a long drop toilet some years ago oooo-er!
They have washed & painted then but they are pretty much cactus they sure are long.
Anyway 2 pics of my helmet & front of the Duke after a five hours on the first day at Corrigin (Corri-Gin) from interactions with the local insects.

    More to follow......

Ron, Reminds me of my weekend commute from Rockingham to Collie when I was working in the power station, job and knock on a Friday and I was straight on the road, I was covered in flies had to stop every petrol station to clean the visor and headlight........

I prefer the flavor of Butterflies to Moths. Mosquitoes are delicious, particularly with the crunch of a flying beetle thrown in.

    Bike run pictures 1

We were blessed with fine spring weather apart from fog when leaving Narrogin on the way home which with a grey unpainted road surface made for some interesting "Which way is the corner going" moments but we all made it out the other side safely.
Its in pretty much in order the group grew when at Ardath as another mob doing a mens mental health run to raise monies for depression in men were there.
Sadly after going there for the last 10 years we will not be going again due to a set of circumstances which led to the pub running dry of eats, drinks plus a sub standard meal, even tho the owner knew months in advance how many of the two groups would be there.

The Benelli 1150 had open heart surgery at Ardath the bike mechanics in the group traced down to a faulty coil pack after removing the injectors the lady holding fuel tank is the owner and also a bike mechanic Mrs Cinders sitting with mobile.
On the way to our next stop we were blessed to see the canolla crops blooming with great expanses of yellow paddocks next time we will stop & get some pics absolutely stunning to see.
I only took one pr of socks by error and had to air them out at Cuballing on the T.V aerials, the lead for the TV was 12" short of the wall plug!
Pic of how the Benelli spent the rest of the trip picked up by another group "Indian Harley " Club members we were meeting there.
We waited for the Spanish Moto GP to start but just as it did the bloody signal went south and we saw nought of it (I ended up watching it at home the next day what a race).
There was nearly a riot, angry pic of me after nearly 750klms of some of the rough bitumen roads my wife likes sneaky attack pics I was not happy?

A country prawn cocktail we live near the coast and the places there don't pack that many prawns into a small area was delicious.
Last pic with my wife sitting getting ready to hit the tarmac on the way home @180 klms away was a great ride we are planning the next one.
