These have been modified for a M1919A4. Pretty common in the late 90's here as Bren 'pods were plentiful, in low demand, and thus cheap.

Various people convertered these, some better than others, and a few destroyed them for use with a real Bren by cutting out the front pivot mount and welding in a larger pintle adapter.

Thanks for the reply! The thing is I have in fact the exactly same mod as the one in the image in this thread. Modified T&E and missing pintle. And I have seen at least 2 other selling.
So might be some official change..... to much of a coincidence if 4 have the (exactly) same mod.... Im in the Netherlands, and here the dutch army indeed has been using a mix of US and Britishicon equipment after the war (50s and 60s).
Not able to find anything specific though up to now..... So will explore the M1919A4 indeed....

I think that is a commercial adapter made and sold for the US home builder market and not a military modification by a particular nation.

Yes indeed, so that makes me wonder who or what nation is behind the T&E Bren modification (the top mount is adapted) in the orgininal picture in this thread. As I said I have exactly the same one, also with missing front pintle... must be a design behind this..... still puzzling me, cant find any documentation yet....
