    Trying to ID this bandolier

I'm trying to identify the maker of this 5-pocket khaki cloth bandolier, which is marked on the strap over "JAN / 1943". I'm also trying to figure out the 2 letter before "Mk VII". This came in the transit case for a No. 4 Mk 1 (T).

Dont quote me on this but I think someone long ago here said if you dampen the area in question with water it can make the indistinct lettering stand out obviously you do not drown it just dab some water on the area with the corner of a wet sponge. I think I heard that here or maybe it was elsewhere

    cwbuff,
He you go mate, I knew I had it somewhere. This will give you a lot of accurate information on your bandolier and much more. Downside don't know why the material part of your question is blackened out on your bandolier but try this link:

Thanks for that link - some great information on that web site.

I also found this site that shows the bandolier.
    http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/equipm...oliers-578454/

On this site I can see that it is "Dominion of Canadaicon" bandolier. It is also filled with 50 rounds of DAC 44 .303 Britishicon ammo in 5 round clips. DAC is Dominion Arsenal Quebec, so that makes sense.

The bandolier appears to be Canadianicon made by 'The American Pad and Textile Co.' since it has single row stitching between the pockets, and what appears to be 'TAPAT CO JAN 1943' would be an abbreviated version of the sling stamping seen here: Guide to British Empire .303 Bandoliers

Yes - you are correct. It appears to be a complete original bandoleer. All of the ammo has the same head stamp with a Canadianicon bandolier. Thanks.
