enfield wood???
I have a 1914 bsa that was sporterized. Original parts are long gone. I want to return it to milspec.
I have a 1944 Lithgow
that is milspec, but heres my problem. the Bsa is approx 1 and 3/4 inches shorter than the lithgow.
on the stock band of the bsa it has SHT. on it. is that a shorter version ? The wood from the lithgow is longer.
I should say that the barrel is longer from the receiver to the end of the barrel on the lithgow. So my question is, does the marking Sht mean a different wood. If so any ideas where I could locate the correct wood.
I was thinking of swapping the 1944 over to the 1914 , but its to long and then make the 1944 the sporter

It sounds like your barrel has been chopped. The barrels are the same length as is the forend furniture. The Butts came in three lengths.

From the milsurps search box; Sorry Bindi they came in 4 lengths so there is 1 1/2"s difference between the Long & the Bantam Butts for the MkIII so the 1914 BSA could have a Bantam & his 1944 a Long giving the impression of a shorter barrel pics would help. The barrel length in the MkIII's was always 25.2" the long toms were longer barreled with an entirely different stocking up.
The Butt lengths & names are: 12 3/4" (Long), 12 1/4" (Regular), 11 3/4" (Short) and 11 1/4" (Bantam) for the MKIII

Why fix what isn't broken? Both rifles are good as they are. It is going to cost more to bring back the 1914 than buying an original. Especially the barrel that has been shortened so new wood won't fit in any case.

If the Lithgow is good, leave it intact. Why wreck one to build another incorrect rifle?
As has already been posted, your barrels been shortened anyway so.......
