Interesting that he still has the 16" bayonet that late in the war. The Marines still had them but the Army had gone to the 10" M1.

Would he also be wearing a K-Bar as if he dumps the pack in an engagement then the bayonet is attached to his pack!
But I guess the K-Bar would be handier in a dire situation just asking. TIA

He might have a combat knife...hard to say. They were an all purpose item.
