There could be a very expensive brick inside that box.

It reminds me of a company proposal at the time of the South Sea Bubble, when the speculative craze was reaching its height:

"For carrying on an undertaking of great advantage; but nobody to know what it is."

I mean, I gotta say I’m tempted. The mystery is enticing.
If it’s full of Waffen stamped 8x56r, for example, there’s a good bit of money inside that tin.
There’s not many more military calibers I can think of off-hand that would make $180 a profitable price though. Armor piercing 30-06 but that’s almost certainly not inside there.

Anybody got the weight of the box that might give us a more accurate edge on whats inside?

The size and the color seem to make it as being made in one of the Warsaw Pack countries. It seems to be a bit smaller then one would see for rifle rounds but that could be the way the photo shows too. Wish there were more photos of it.

    Well, I went for it.
I'm currently the highest bidder at $190.
We can all share in it together if I win.
Hopefully I can recoup (or shoot up!) some of that money haha.

    And I did win it!
I almost certainly paid too much but at least we’ll all learn something.
I’ll be setting up at a local gun show in December, though, so if I can’t use it I should be able to pass it on to those who can.

Will update when it comes in.
