    Lithgow No. 1 Mk III Sniper on RIA

    Rock Island has a Lithgowicon sniper up for auction on their upcoming Premier auction. I like these No. 1 Mk III snipers but I don’t an awful lot about them. So I was wondering if you guys could provide me some insight on this one...there aren’t many pictures on the auction site which doesn’t help me any. Thanks for in advance.

    Others will be along with more knowledge than I about the H.T's

    Page 318 of the Lee Enfield by Skennertonicon lists this rifle as Date to store ~ 06.12.1944 Type of mount = M (Medium bracket has to do with the height of it) so the rifle is the real deal however if I am correct they do say however the scope is mismatched (From what I gather in the add).

    SAF = Small Arms Factory

    7 pt star (large) with A inside Early Lithgowicon SAF (c1913 – c1915)

    7 pt star (small) with A inside Later Lithgow SAF (c1915 – c1926)

    MAO Rifle Factory No.3 Orange (butt marking)

    Thanks for the feedback. I ordered ian’s The Britishicon Sniper today. I figured the more knowledge the better when it comes to these rifles.

    Books

    Probably better off just getting the last edition of Skennertons A Century of the Lee Enfield. I'm OCD getting books in series as well as "Special" limited editions

    I have not read my copy of Skennertons The Britishicon Sniper for a while so cannot remember if he has any info on the HT's in there
