    It's indeed due to the angle the photograph was taken. There is another digit that is hidden.

    My bad, I missed that for quite a few years. I will change it the next time I will take the Winchester out of the gun vault.

    It took years of fruitless search before I finally found an M1A1icon Carbine. Unfortunately it was a demilled one!!! But as the price was very good I couldn't resist, alltough I had sworn myself never to buy a demilled gun.

    My plan was to take the stock and put it on another, still functional, Inland carbine I have, but as this one seems to be an original "first production run" M1A1 I just left it as it is. But If I would find a correct barrel and bolt I might replace them.

    It makes your heart bleed to see that such a fine and hard to find weapon was castrated just because someone had to have an "original" .....because in the end it isn't original anymore, it had it's soul ripped out! But as I said, I couldn't pass on.
