Did the search before posting. Excellent info on how to modify a No4 to No5. Just need to know exact length. Thanks. Ron (Canadaicon)

    From a post in 2016

    "Hello,

I just pulled apart two of my No.5s, and here is what I came up with

(all measurements taken from the rear of the handguard)

    overall length=225.42mm

length to the barrel band groove=201.61mm

    barrel band groove=11.11mm

remainder, from front of groove cut to front of handguard=12.7mm

Handguard manufacturers were both Fazakerly (F) and BSA (M47A).

Best of luck with the project."

Ron, that's a brand new No5 forend. As I read your question you were just after the overall length. From the top rear of the forend to the very front tip, it measures 19.125 inches or 48.5 cm.

    Hope this helps.
