    Luger Carbine Rebuild

A young friend of mine recently acquired a Luger carbine rebuild. I am not a Luger expert but it appears to be an S42 Russianicon capture Luger with a new manufacture 16 inch 9mm barrel attached. New made stock, most of the numbers and markings scrubbed off the Luger itself and highly polished with new bluing. Straw finished appropriate parts. It looks nice but I can't really answer a lot of his questions as I haven't been able to locate anything similar to compare it too. It's not mine so no photos.

Has anyone heard of a manufacturer of these. Comes in a very nice display/carrying case. Potential value would be helpful also. I have heard of at least one being made as a one off by a gun smith but that's the closest I've come.

I've seen many of these. Some are one off-made by a machinist/ gunsmith The most famous are made by well known master gunsmith John Martz and Also go to Lugerman.com to see another master. Salt Flat

"...most of the numbers and markings scrubbed off..." Doesn't that give the ATF conniption fits? Just curious. They make(and export) all kinds of other laws by regulation.

Pretty sure that the only number the BATFE is interested in is the serial number.

Serial number was intact which is why the Russianicon Capture mark was left. Right beside it.
