Slings
The Fall GCA Journal in the final edit stage has a neat article on slings by Tom Taylor. He thinks he has them all and in minty condition. Attachment 96968Attachment 96967

That must be where the idea that they made a tan sling came from. There are a few there that sure look tan. Just washed out OD3 I think. Looks like he kept them all just as he got them.

Impressive
That's some good "collection style eye candy" there, I'll be looking forward to reading that article for a certainty.

Those all look to be web slings, not leather. Hopefully his article covers the leather slings that were issued during WW2.
I have what appears to be an old leather 1907-type sling that's stamped: 'BoyT' (the 'B' and 'T' are in caps), with '-44-' under it.
I'm interested in whether his article can help me vet this sling as the real deal, ... or a Repo.

Leather is his current project, he says BTW, the magazine should start going into the mail next week.
