Smile Swedish M38, type one sight?

I have a really nice M38 type one Waffinbrik 1899, straight bolt, threaded muzzle, nice little plate and stuff, It shoots exceptionally well despite the roomer of the treaded muzzle guns not being performers. The only thing not consistent with the rest of the gun is the rear sight is the Vasteras Metallverken, refined sight adapter M1938. Was it SOP to change these? while I'm at it does anyone have any first hand experience shooting the Husky M38, I usually don't buy doubles unless they have good shooting and collectability potential. Any input welcome-SDH

I believe these are civilian target shooting sights. I haven't got a pic of a Type 1, but here's a Type 2 in my collection. I've never mounted it on a m/96 rifle to see how well it works, but anecdotal feedback I've had said that if set-up correctly, it can be quite effective.

"Västerås Metallverken" Type II rear sight for m/96 rifle ONLY.

BTW, here's a link to a thread in the "The Curio and Relic Firearms Forum", that has a lengthy discussion with pics:
