    Arisaka type38 rear sight

    Hi guys
    I need a little advice.
    I have a Arisakaicon type 38 carbine, i shoot ad a disrance at 200M
It group exelent. Horizontal perfect. Vertical 8-10 inch too the right
I have adjusted the front sight to the right as far I want it.
I have now discovered that the rear sight base
Is slightly offset too the right.
    And now the question:
If i loosen the screws. Is it posible to ajust it about 1 Degrés or so?
And is it then posible to refit the screws
With the base in a slightly new position?

I would wager that it’s soldered in addition to the screws. This means you’d have to remove the screws and heat it with a torch to budge it.
If this is true, though, once you moved it where you wanted you’d simply let it cool. The solder alone would likely hold it fine in non-combat conditions.

I posted some observations on original thread in "Japaneseicon Rifles". Shifting rear-sight collar will probably interfere with fit of (close fitting) wooden hand-guard.

Also, although slightly 'canted', front and rear sights, may currently be aligned. Changing just one, and not the other, could create more problems.
