The concussion bouncing off the bonnet & front screen must have been something for the front occupants of the half track to endure....

The Diamond symbol on the bumper denotes the 3rd Marine Division. It went into use in roughly 1944 making it likely this photo is from either Guam or Iwo Jima. Also noted the chains on the front tires for added traction.
