Yes, now I am able to confirm that Not Guilty verdicts have been reached again all the charges where the Jury have reached a unanimous OR majority verdict. 4x smaller charges remain where the jury could not reach a decision. The prosecutors and Police must decide whether to ask for a re-trial on those remaining. But even this severe ar5e kicking might not temper their enthusiasm for this continuing 2 1/2 year long farce. I say no more

Well if its been proven again they should drop the case as it has been proven that the defendant is Not Guilty, sometimes I think the press are the ones that need their anal canals reamed and barbed wire inserted up there as a reminder to STFU. Sorry its brought out my sadistic side where all to often people are wrongly put infront of the firing squad and unable to say anything in their defence all the while the press pounds the place and pages with headlines and pictures taken at long range which I see as an intrusion of privacy I mean look at what happened over those long range shots of I think it was Princess Diana the press got roasted evrybody is equal they all eat & crap just the same as us underlings therefore we all deserve privacy. Thats my 15c's worth....

Glad your back Peter now you can get back to helping all of us here again.

Sadly with great experience surrounding Military Police practice, I have always been of the opinion that the MOD Police have always been "wanting" and lack "real and meaningful" investigative skills, and should stick to what they are good at, which is man guarding gates, their real purpose in life. They have always wanted to be real coppers!!

The times I have had to take over an enquiry from them, at a time when your own workload was massive, leaves me counting with both socks off and gloves off, its been that many times!!

This case shows their true incompetence, recognised by the Judge himself. He must have been so frustrated sending the jury in and out over matters of "incompetence" which would materially be held back from their ears, so that they could hear the facts, if there ever were any.

Anyway, great news for all of you, lets see what gets rightfully handed back in smart and timely fashion, and don't hold your breath, for the press report doing a rightful clearance piece, because you will be waiting a long time!!!

The stress you and your family have experienced can never be compensated................they should hold their heads in shame! Now no doubt they will chase the L96 one supposes as they get bored!

Agreed.................however, similar to your circumstances with the Cadet, they would be bought in the full knowledge and correctly documented, over time, by the firearms dealers using the correct legislation current at the time, by the respective Police Force, in and by the Law as it stood at the time. If that system for recording firearms no matter how long ago it was bought, is wanting, surely, it is that system that needs urgent addressing to make it watertight not individuals!

It would simply be another own goal for the MOD Police if they went down that road, as it was the MOD that disposed of them in the first place, which again will be proved, with the usual outcome...................no case to answer.
Not "our collective" fault if they can't keep and retain disposal information, they appear to just want a scapegoat!

The danger of carrying out an investigation to prove what you think is that you fail to be objective and only select the parts of the evidence that supports your thesis.

The investigative Doctrine says ABC - Assume nothing, Believe nothing, Challenge everything

Had a proper investigation been carried out, it would clearly have saved a lot of time, money, energy and heartache for those found innocent.

    Roy,
Agreed. This trial would have cost in excess of £3 Million pounds. That cost abstracted from the public purse is scandalous, at a time when there are so many other areas like the NHS that could have used those funds.

This case is a clear 7 PPPPPPP's. For those not blessed as ex Military that stands for:

Proper Planning & Practice Prevents Piss Poor Performance

Had the MOD followed their own ethos this could have been avoided

I'll tell you one thing that there are competent gunsmiths out there that if one has enough cash can build a weapon every bit as good as the L96 I get so tired of the authorities barking at and chaining us to the ground over the Sniper Rifles my .308 APRS is a 1/3rd of a minute rifle repeatable if I do my stuff just as good as a sniper rifle but an L96 its not.

The govt's of the world should focus on stopping terrorism as the suckers don't need explosives now that drones are that cheap and readily available I know lets ban them!
