    Riccheri Devise

Because I'm bored and I've never seen this anywhere else in one image. A demonstration of the Riccheri Devise [adapter] used on the Argentineicon 1909s and Spanish 1943 (pictured).

Those used to be around. You could find them in the small parts bins at gunshows. Too, they might come installed on a rifle but would be removed by a new owner to make it "Correct" and take the "Right" bayonet. Not so available any more. I suspect many were discarded...without knowledge.

I see them on tons of web sites like GPC, Liberty Tree, etc. I also see them on ebay and Gunbroker very often. I have an extra that I got in a lot of parts on ebay once because I needed the site base or something.

It adapts the bayonet lug to the configuration to accept Pre-Gew98 pattern bayonets.

    (top to bottom)
Standard Long H pattern bayonet lug.
W/ Standard Modell Spanish w/Guard bayonet
W/ Standard Modell Spanish w/o Guard bayonet

Long pattern H bayonet lug w/Riccheri devise installed
W/ Model 1941 Bolo Blade bayonet

So it means I can fit any of these, and more to his rifle. I have the Riccheri locked in to the 1941 for safe keeping.

Occasionally you'd fine one in the mortise slot of a bolo bayonet when it was for sale...

Saw the picture you posted of the Ricchieri Device. Just got one since I have a K98kicon and Argentineicon 1909/47 and 1891 bayonets. Thought I’d put them together. Works great. I purchased a short bayonet bar nose cap for the short top part of the device. But you installed on a long bar nose cap. Didn’t know that could be done so thanks for the pics. — Lee Zielinski
