    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.     Yes but where and when? They're in fighting order and cold weather gear and one man has frag apparent...I thought maybe Germanyicon but the frag would be out of place.

    I am surprised they are using mess tray in a field environment. Usually it's the old mess kit. I figure the photo is from the late 50's to early 60's based on the head gear and uniform patches and name tapes.

    The M14s place it squarely within 1959 to 1964 don't they...

    Come to think of it, I saw the brow party on board the USS Alamo close up with four plus other weapons back in ...'78 I think it was...I'd think they were out of service for infantry though.
