    Rock-Ola question

What is the earliest SN that the integral spring hole was bored out of the back of the housing? I have a 1.72M rifle that is bored out.

    Hi Rick,
    I'm confused..... happens often.

Are you asking about the drilled out Drain hole on the back end of the Integral Op spring housing ?
    If Yes.....

Then, We need to check our Rock Ola serial numbers and list them that Have or Don't Have the Drain Hole on the very back.

Have I got it straight ?

CC Data sheet has 3 possibilities :
    None
    3/16"
    Full with bushing

I figured he was talking about the receiver, the change from spring tube to just drilling a hole in the receiver for the spring.

The hole that the return spring sits in is bore all the way through and out the end of the rear of the receiver 3/16 diameter. I thought this was done on mid and later range SN'd rifles. This is SN 1722218. Picture.....

    OK, Got it.
I currently have a clear path to the safe that holds my barreled receivers..... long story but been looking for a mis placed .45 slide and frame. Let me go have a look see.
For any RMC before 1,72 with hole.

Hey I found a WRA Spring tube receiver # 1,126,5xx Type 1C (Last Variation) I planned on auctioning a year or two ago... Hah !

    Back on Topic,
    Rick,
I pulled my 2 earliest RMC's.. Both have the 3/16" size hole
    Serial numbers 1,713,06x and 1,712,8xx
The others are stocked and either on display or in another locker.... but are newer.

Might just be your picture, but the hole on yours looks bigger.

    HTH

Edit: I see now that you posted yours measures 3/16"

It's eggzactly 3/16. I purchased this one as correct but Ruth says the hole comes later. The rifle looks almost to good to be true and I'm thinking restoration? Here are the bits; Front sight RP on barrel in front of sight shows no removal marks, HG marked RMC 2 rivet, I shaped oiler slot, RMC in well, boxed RMC & crossed canons R side of stock, rear sight BR on R, BR on leaf, S on left, Rock-Ola recoil plate, Mag release BR in well, safety plain unmarked, Hammer KR in slot, Sear no hole no mark on top didn't take apart, Bolt flat Rock-Ola on R lug, Slide Rock-Ola on bottom, Band M-R R side, Oiler IR, butt plate correct Rock - Ola. ME is a 2.

I just looked at a File I save from a friend of what we call 'IWO'
It's a RMC serial # 1,692,9xx that has NO drain hole drilled.
