    M16A2 Clone

Just thought we would post a quick pic of an A2 we just finished up.

It is a FK USGI marked upper reciever (FN). Barrel is a Delton Government Profile.. Hand guards are Surplus GI. Not the best condition. Hoping we can find better ones in the future. Stock is USGI original with repro buttplate. Grip is USGI. Rest of lower is just a run of the mill Aero lower. Grip is FN.

Anyway we like it. Came out pretty decent and runs great. We built it for sub 500.00 so it is not perfect. But what the kid could afford to do.. Thanks

Funny how an A2 is now "retro", I remember as a young chap how they were the newest thing on the block in the middle 1980s. Never got to handle one, only shot M16A1 rifles which was the standard A in the early 1980s. It was a big deal the first time I shot one at Camp Perry in the small arms firing school, which must have been the early 1990s. Now they are old school and the bits had to find.

Having been buying firearms since the 80's, I've never thought of my Colt as "retro", but I guess it is nowadays. I'm getting old.

Looks superb, I would love an A2 build ... Not in the UKicon unfortunately, unless I wanted to build one in straight pull.

The A2 is still the new kid on the block in Afghanistan, where our Uncle Sam has been steadily delivering large quantities of ex USGI A2's.

Before semi automatic rifles were banned here in 1988, we we were just getting the AR15 A2 HBAR. Lovely rifles to shoot.
