Years ago I saw a pile of '03 barreled receivers. All scrubbed receivers, but with a neat story. They were at the importers warehouse and fresh off the boat from China. The Red Guards had gotten hold of them and ground all of the western markings off the receivers. He wanted me to take the entire pile and no returns. I said no, but they were interesting, to say the least.

Imagine, there went a large pile of receivers, done and gone. Scrap...numbers that will never be accounted for again. The barrels might have been OK though, today you might get your coin back on that alone. You'd have to burn the midnight oil with a saw to take off the back end though.

I don't recall the site, but you can flip over a '03 receiver and find its manufacture story by the milling on the trigger slot. The low numbers have a long mill cut, while the high numbers have a short cut. Vi Shooter site?? Not sure. Likely John Beardicon could figure it out.

Maybe he could have... Deleted number still tells a different story.
