    Colt Commando marked "VT"

I recently acquired this Colt Commando (s/n 10,592) marked "VT" with an ordnance bomb.

According to the Curator of the Vermont National Guard Museum, the Vermont State Guard was issued Commandos during WWII but, so far, neither he nor I have been able to determine if those Commandos were marked in any way.

The "VT" is probably not a factory marking like the "MASS" marking on the Massachusetts State Guard Commandos.

Has anyone seen this "VT" marking on a Commando before? Any documentation to the Vermont State or National Guard?

The Curator shared "CIRCULAR NO.2" from the Adjutant General Vermont State Guard dated October 28, 1943 which prescribes weapons qualification standards. Interestingly, revolver qualification distances differ according to revolver brand:

"Smith and Wesson .38 revolver" "50 ft."
    "Colt's Commando .38 revolver" "40 ft."
"Harrington and Richardson .38 revolver" "25 ft."

    Thanks for any insight!
