    1903 safety replacement

found two sporterized springfields, both have had the safeties converted to a Winchester model 70 horizontal crappiness.

What would most likely be needed, and cost, to bring that bolt back to military standard?

Is this the type you speak of? You'll need a whole new back end and safety...at least.

Complete bolt replacement and before trying to restore the rifles, inspect to see if the receivers have been "notched" to allow the altered bolts to seat fully. In addition , the issue trigger - sear assembly has been replaced with an after market trigger. This may have required alteration of the sear slot in the receiver. That bolt that is installed is not correct for a M1903 but is a late war contractor fabricated replacement bolt.

My error. I thought that the bolt pictured was of the rifle in question. It obviously is nit, but my previous comments MAY apply.

Standard Parts, LLC has the necessary parts. Not too expensive, but figure out what all you need. Good luck.
