    Mosin nagant ammo

I was clearing out a closet in the basement and found a plastic container with 100 rounds of Mosin nagant ammo. I barely remember having a nagant back in the 90's and don't remember having any ammo. The only identifying stamp is 10 84 around the primer.

I assume it surplus but I'd like to know more.

I also found what appears to be a "kit" that came with the rifle, has 4 cartridge pouches, a cloth pouch with what appears to be the tools for cleaning /adjusting, and can for lube with 2 lids.

I should have sent these with the rifle when I sold it but I don't remember even having it.

I think your casings that are stamped 10 84 are bulgarian. And the cloth case with tools are the firing pin protrusion gauge and the other pieces are to assemble the cleaning rod.the ammunition I would treat as corrosive because there seems to be no definitive answer if Surplus made in the 80s are corrosive/non corrosive. The consensus seems to be if shooting any surplus, treat it as corrosive and clean with Windex afterwards.the stamping 10 means Bulgaria and the 84 is the year made

Thank you... I will be selling it locally since I don't have anything to use it with. The original packaging has been lost and this is in an airtight container. I'll have some information for the next owner.

The Bulgarian surplus is corrosive, you don't need anything fancy to clean your weapons after shooting corrosive ammo. Windex is fine if you want to use it but plain old hot water will remove the corrosive salts left behind by the primer compound then just clean as normal.
