    Resigning as moderator

I want to thank everyone for participating on the forum during my tenure as the M1icon Carbine moderator. There have been a few bumps here and there, but overall we have a great group of guys here.

I carried an M-2 carbine in Vietnam and have enjoyed collecting carbines for 42 years now, started in 1976.

My agent orange cancer from Vietnam in now terminal. I don't know if that means a few, or maybe six, months. But my strength and mental capacities are drastically diminished. I need to spend my time and energy getting things ready for my wife of 50 years.

My thanks to all for the years we have shared on this forum. I've made many great friends.

    Jim

Thank you Jim for everything you have done for these forums and especially our country. It is a debt that we can never repay. I have only been a member a very short while here, but I have read your posts for the last decade it seems before I became a member and I've learned a lot from you. Thanks for the email conversations I was lucky to have with you and thank you for the items I was lucky enough to get to buy from you, they will be cherished always by my family because they came from the collection of a true hero of our country. Thank you Jim for everything you have done and do for the hobby as well. Even though I have never met you, I consider you a friend and my heart sank when reading this thread this morning.i hope you will check in on the forums every now and then and keep us learning with your knowledge. I will always keep your picture with the things that came from you because even though I have them now, me and my son still consider and will always consider them yours.thanks for everything Jim

Thanks Jim for all the knowledge and pictures you have posted here over the years thoroughly enjoyed all of what you have shared with us here.
Now it is time to do those things you have been putting off for various reasons the bucket list everybody has one and if I may say one thing that I learned from one of lifes bitter moments its this................

The things you meant to say but never did say them to the ones you love as when you cross the great divide those words you take with you and are lost forever to those that matter.

Life taught me that as my dad died of pancreatic cancer one of the most painful of the Jimmy Dancers I had the chance to say things to him at the hospital a week before he died but never did I have felt guilty ever since some 33 years and still counting....until its my turn.

I'm sorry to hear all of that Jim, wish I'd had a chance to meet you after you moved closer. Not much of comfort I can say at a time like this, wish you the best and you'll be in my thoughts.
    Regards, Jim
