Piston post interchange Mk.I and Mk.II

Need some advice on a Bren No.I build . Are the piston posts from a Mk.I and Mk.II interchangeable and can be used on a extension that came with my Mk.I parts that was missing the post ? Will I need anything beside the Mk.II post ,springs ect.if they are interchangeable ?

You use a Mk1 p-post with a Mk1 spring and plunger and a Mk2 with Mk2. If my old memory serves me right, the long Mk1 plunger bottoms out in the Mk2 post (or vice verca, sorry) and once the spring end of the plunger mushrooms out, it's a bugger - or almost impossible - to separate them. Spring or no spring!
