Show Off With Captured German Weapons

Came across this and I just don't see a M1icon, I don't think the Lt. is going to use them anyway.

Question, were any of the early MkB42H or MkB42W found in Franceicon during 1944/45 ?

They (Germans) did issue the early MKb42's to the Russianicon front starting in 1942, sort of a testing in actual combat. I have seen a few
rare photos. Nice feature of the MKb42 is full auto from an open bolt, magazines will interchange with the later models

I knew of a man that stated he was issued one and his first use was to ambush an enemy ski patrol with it. With the details, I had to believe his story. Don't know exactly which model or make it was of these though...

In WWI they called the machine gun the "Devils Paintbrush" due to its decimation of advancing infantry but allot of that was due to inept tactics of lets walk into the face of adversity instread of using cover.
Anyway if they had coined a name for the MG42's used against the troops they would have probably called it "The Devils Spray Can" due to it high rate of fire in the region of 1000-1200RPM it was called "Hitlers Buzzsaw", the troops having to face it on the beaches on D-Day on the shoreline with only asparagus traps for cover and most of those had explosives attached not the thing to hide behind with bullets flying all around thats a different kind of courage indeed.

I agree, Sarge. He's way too clean. Clearly not a front-line combatant. Doesn't have a clue how to hold a weapon. Probably a guitar player.

Hopefully, the Luger doesn't have a round in the chamber.

7,92mm cartridges, the short and long

My photo shows a 7,92x33mm next to a 7,92x107mm Polish anti tank cartridge (which is a dummy) While the 7,92mm Kurz fired a 125 gr bullet at around 2250 fps the Polish 7,92mm fired a 225 gr bullet at 4180 fps

Last year I saw some photos of the MP 43 or 44 being used in the middle east, one photo had a modern scope installed.Attachment 98317
