    M1 NM type 2?

First off, I have never owned an M1icon Garand. I have never fired an M1 Garand. I know little, I am learning about the M1 Garand.
This Summer I bought this M1 in part of a collection. I paid 1K and figured it was worth the risk.
I know not all of the parts are correct, but what do you think? I am sending into CMPicon about the numbers.
The stock is glass bedded but numbers in channel do not match serial number.

Let me know. I know you guys are pretty into these, and I could use some help. I have added the link to imgur for the pictures. Thanks

Nice looking rifle. Very early drawing number on the bolt...

Looks like a legit 1963 to me. Too bad about the stock.

What does it mean? Is there significance to it?

No significance to the NM, at that stage SA used any bolt that would headspace correctly in that rifle. It is, however, an early bolt and might have some modest collector appeal to somebody restoring a 1941 rifle.

I tried to buy both rifles, He had another with a shiny stock, but it had been spoken for. I did get a whole bunch of boxed match ammo with it. Maybe 500rds.

Nice score there if you got it for any less than a dollar per round.

I think it was around .50 per round or less.

I have a mostly correct 1941 M1icon rifle. It does share the same drawing number as my rifle's bolt.
