    Beautiful 1903 Sporter

Really kicking myself for not making a couple more bids on this beauty and missing out on it.

So unfortunately I won't be able to share anything else on it but I thought I would post the pictures for discussion.
What's up with that mount on the barrel just forward of the receiver?

Ugh...really should have bid more on it . Final bid was $340 - plus 15% premium, plus shipping, plus transfer fee would have put it at about 450. A lot for a sporter but a steal considering the money that was put into it.

Yes, nice rifle. Done when there were thousands available and some were used to make a high grade sporter like this. Too bad you missed that one.

The mount on the barrel ring is a scope mount but the rear of the scope must have gone into the receiver sight mount. Lift out the sight bridge and slide the scope into place? Straight down...lock. The bolt handle has been altered for a scope in the old way, just ground...

It's true what they say...you regret the ones you don't buy.
    Oh well.
Would've went nicely with that Kragicon sporter I have.

This isn't going to make you feel any better either.

But I think that was a 1919 NM receiver at one time just by the serial number.

I think it's been refinished so it wouldn't show the polished rails. But I bet money that receiver was a 1919 NM at one time.

    You are correct, haha.
Win some, lose some. It's the fails that make auctions exciting.
