Hungarian PU sniper rifles

After picking up a 1952 Hungarian M52 sniper this past weekend I am able to say I have completed my collection of Hungarian PU snipers with a 1952, 2-1953's, & a 1954 M52, plus a Hungarian Military marked 1943 Izhevsk PU sniper.

Very nice bevy of deadly Hungarian beauties there! I picked up a very clean one recently but sadly the scope turned out to be a mismatch.

Walt, It amazes me you can find all of those is such good condition. Clearly those have been going from one safe to another safe over their lives. Its nice to see you put an entire family of them together. Any info on the production numbers for each?.... was it '52 with the lowest? I can't remember without my cheat sheet. There ain't many of all of these which makes it even more rare to come up with that combo. I would go as far to say you have a collective family of unicorns that are now inseparable. I personally have never seen all years represented in one picture. Nice find. I am envious.

I have been really disappointed twice after chasing down really nice Hungarian Snipers and both times it turned out they had really frosty or pitted bores.
Beautiful everywhere else but confirmed with the owner of each one that they were shot with the less expensive spam can Milsurp ammunition and both not cleaned properly or at all for a while.
I think the dealers and guys at the shows who sell Moisin Snipers, or all rifles in 7.62x54 should get the new owner to write "modern non-corrosive ammo only" on their hand with indelible ink when they do a hand off.
