    Fresh Out Of The Closet

We went to a small local gun show and got there early. Three tables had six carbines. This one was at the far back corner of the show, with some guns out of an estate. Serial number 219xxx. I don't know when the sight was changed but everything else about it says it has been together from day one. You never know when your lucky day is going to happen. Best Regards.....Frank

Thanks Jim and Charlie, I was going to keep walking and Sarah pulled me back and told me to take a look at it. Then the mag catch caught my eye. I asked if I could take it apart and was quite surprised at the internals. We also picked up four carbine stocks and a laser/scope for one of my AR's. It was a good time.

    Uh Huh.....
Don't forget her on Thursday.... Valentines Day, She sure has it coming.
My wife loves the shows and is very helpful as we split up to scout it out asap.
With her flirty chit chat she ends up getting a better deal on misc gear.

Yea you read that right. I'm not above pimping if it saves me a couple hundred over the coarse of a long day.
Plus comes in handy when having to carry everything to the truck !!

I've done that in past. Point out what I wanted and left her some cash. Begging and pleading and they usually bend...

This angle works great when the sellers have their wives with them also. Gals get to chit chatting.
No sellers wife there..... plan B..... Flirty approach.

When I get the sellers bottom line price (but still think he'll drop some) I've tried walking away and have her follow up. Sometimes she'll get that price farther down. Guess I'm not very good at the Flirty angle...... LOL
    All fun times.

Nice pickup Frank. Too bad the stock is wrong for it other wise it would have been a fantastic find but still a very good one for sure.

It's real simple Charlie as her getting better deals then you. She is MUCH better looking then an old fart like you!!!! But keep trying on your own and you might just find some here and there. By the way did you use her Christmas present to clear away the white stuff or did you make the poor women have to do it? lol

You asking if I had her shoveling ??
Come on give me a break.......
It was tearing me up watching her out there so....
I taught her how to use the snow thrower !

Barrel date 2-43 was mentioned as being near the transition from I to Oval cut. Franks being inside 10K of the first reported Oval cut on 229,xxx
If held up just a short while..... Could there be a possibility the Type II stock could be correct ?

Reading the title made me reconsidering opening the thread. Then the opening post settled me down. Reading down the thread, now I'm not so sure again.
