Superb carbine, I would dearly love an example like that one.

We have to settle with Straight pull examples, or those poor quality Italianicon .22 Semi Autos that look the part, but appear to have the structural strength of warm butter and last about as long too...

I had a .22WMR Erma M1icon replica loved that little gun was a hoot to shoot put the 12 round mag on it as they only came I think with a 5 or six shot (Got it in around 1978-'79) but then later we had JWH castrate the lot of us legit owners due to Port Arthur if you change his initials around our then prime minister becomes John Howard W***er and so he was......

I feel your pain Ron.... We can still get .22 WMR semi autos here luckily, with a growing number of AR variants to choose from.

When you take in to account that the Inland receivers and SG made (For Inland) receivers were not assembled in consecutive order, the serial number ranges for parts and stocks probably weren't in order either.
Per CCNL 346 there was overlapping use of the I cuts and Oval cuts.
First reported Oval was on 229,293 less than 10,000 from Franks.
Highest reported I cut example 294,488.
Most of the barrel dates reported on 229,293 to 294,488 was 2-43.
Using this pool of reported carbines the 2-43 date may indicate when the Oval cut stocks started becoming available.

This leads me to believe a Oval cut on a Inland 219,xxx with original barrel date of 2-43 is likely original.

Had Frank's 219,xxx been reported on earlier the comparison pool may have been 219,xxx to 294,488.

As Marcus said, there had to be a first with an oval cut stock.

    Yea,
    And he probably owns it!

Had to be an overlap of use with I cuts vs Oval cuts..... As the Ovals became available.
I believe barrel date of 2-43 to be key.

Hats off to Newscotlander on his work in CCNL 346

Hey Painter, any idea where I can pick up a beater I cut Inland stock?
